Champions of Learning Fair
Along with other adult learning and literacy organizations in Calgary, Chinook Learning Services is celebrating International Adult Learners’ Week on Saturday, March 6 at the Village Square Library, learn more. One of our instructors, Karl Plesz, is presenting a free session on Internet Safety and Security. The day runs from 10:00 am - 4:00 pm and there are seats still available in many of the seminars.

Summer Programs for YouthSummer Programs for Youth
Some dates you may want to plan the family holiday around:

  • July 1 - July 30: Summer School Grades 10-12
    Complete a 5-Credit High School Course in less than 5 weeks. Choose from a variety of 10-20-30 level subjects. Core, Option & ESL courses. Registration information is now online.
  • July 12 - July 23: New - Gifted Programs for Grades 1-9
    These programs are specifically developed for students who have been coded as gifted for Grades 4-9 and for students in Grades 1-3 who will be coded in the future.
  • July 12 - July 30: Summer School for K-Grade 9
    Curriculum-Based programs are back by popular demand. These include Remedial classes for Grades 1-9, Preview for Success classes for K-Grade 5, English as a Second Language (ESL) for Grades 1-9, Enrichment classes for Grades 7-9 and Afternoon Camp for K-Grade 6.
  • July 12 - July 30: New - Afternoon Programs for Grades 7-12
    Students will choose from a wide selection of options:
    • Computer classes in Dreamweaver, Excel, PowerPoint and Word
    • Sculpture classes in clay, plaster & metal
    • Skills sports camps in basketball and volleyball
    • General interest classes in cartooning, acoustic guitar and sewing.

Summer Off-CampusSummer Work Experience for Credit
High school students who are of 15 years of age or older have the opportunity to earn Work Experience credits while working as paid employees, see Summer Off-Campus

Calgary Regional Summer Band Workshop

2010 marks the 30th anniversary of this program for young and enthusiastic musicians. The program is available for students Grade 5 and beyond, including adults.
