The first time I was introduced to this concept was way back in the year 2000. Thomas Leonard, pioneer of the coaching industry, was alive and well and shaking up the coaching world with the development of Coachville, an online resources community for coaching.

Thomas, always the visionary, was in my opinion, a great leader. With Thomas's sudden death in 2002 I thought that would be the end of such thought leadership. Luckily, Thomas Leonard had the insight to leave Coachville to his good friend, Dave Buck.

Now is 2005, I attended a Coachville conference in New Orleans focused on Leadership.

Each speaker shared what it takes to lead in this Inspiration Age. Motivation in not enough anymore, people need to be inspired and we need leaders to step forward and inspire.

Leadership is a serving relationship with others that inspires their growth and makes the world a better place?

I was particularly inspired by Lance Secretan and his model of leadership based on the ?Keys to the Castle?

Lance Secretan's Higher Ground Leadership company has worked with many organizations to reduce employee turnover, often by 64% and increase revenue, by 160% or better. Continuous bottom line results are the basis of his work.

Truly inspiring! I'm not quite through his book Inspire but I would strongly re commend it was a must read. Lance Secretan is an amazing thought leader.

Loud and clear the theme of servant leadership was developed.

Mark Vincente, one of the producers of the movie ?What the Bleep? gave an outstanding presentation. Quantum Physics made easy. One of the conference attendees asked Mark ?What is Quantum Physics?? Mark explained that Quantum Physics in its simplest form is the space between particles. I have tried numerous times to study quantum physics with no success. Mark's down to earth manner and passion for his subject were truly inspiring and made Quantum Physics ?real? for me. If you haven't seem the move, pick it up at your local video store and enjoy this delightful documentary through the complex world of Quantum Physics in an easy to understand, light and often humorous manner.
