The Olympic torch will be rolling through town Tuesday, January 5. Don't miss the huge Olympic Torch Relay Community Celebration at The Forks Market from 5 – 8pm.

Winnipeg is proud to host the Olympic flame as it travels across the country. The Celebration will include performances by Tracy Bone, Chic Gamine, Norman Chief Memorial Dancers, Brakada and Doc Walker. Lots of great things to see and do – all concluded by fireworks.

Until January 10 - Cuba Avant-Garde: Contemporary Cuban Art from the Farber Collection continues.

Artist Andy Warhol once said that everyone would, sooner or later, have their own 15 minutes of fame and that’s what the Winnipeg Art Gallery is offering to city artists through their new program 15 Minutes. This free, ongoing series of artist salon evenings takes place the first Thursday of every month. Admission to 15 Minutes is free.

Costume Museum of Canada
Collection Highlights: 50 years of collecting and preserving. Until January 17. Many gems are hiding in our collection of over 35,000 artifacts. This show invites visitors to share in an eclectic mix of staff and volunteers' favorites that have amassed over the last 50 years.

Every good outfit starts with a good foundation. This exhibit will look at the history of the bra and foundation wear.

Make it Your Own T-shirt Reconstruction competition

Starting January 2. T-Shirt can be picked up at the museum until February 1 and deadline for all entries is February 12.

Winnipeg Folk Festival at the Library: Folk For Families

Children love folk music too! There’s no time like the present to get our wee folk in the festival spirit! Local family performers will have little ones singing, dancing, and learning, all while having fun.

Written in 1983, Fen, which focused on female tenant farmers, won Caryl Churchill the prestigious Susan Smith Blackburn Prize. In response to the New York Public Theatre run of the play Frank Rich asserted that although the play is "at times the most off-putting" of Churchill's works, it is nevertheless "another confirmation that its author possesses one of the boldest theatrical imaginations to emerge in this decade."
