JFM Grant Gives a Voice

Living with Cerebral Palsy requires Shelley Stewart to rely on attendant support for the majority of her needs. Shelley recently acquired a speech generating device, which has given her a new-found voice.

Program Helps New Immigrants Acclimatize

The Jewish Foundation of Manitoba was pleased to provide Immigrant and Refugee Community Organization of Manitoba (IRCOM) with funds in support of their “Family-to-Family” program.

New Scholarship Provides Unique Opportunity

When Samuel Grosberg documented his story for the Jewish Foundation of Manitoba’s Endowment Book of Life, he said, “The streets were my university, and I survived ... but no one should have to learn that way.

This conviction motivated Grosberg to leave a significant bequest for scholarships and education awards, including a unique award just established at the Jewish Foundation: the Grosberg Family Judaic Studies/Hebrew Teachers’ Award. Read more...

Foundation Supports RWB Israel Tour 2010

In 1975 the Royal Winnipeg Ballet was the first Canadian ballet company to perform in Israel. To commemorate their 70th anniversary, they are planning a return trip! The Jewish Foundation of Manitoba provided a $10,000 grant in support of the October 2010 trip, which is being planned in partnership with the Jewish Federation of Winnipeg. RWB will be performing Mauricio Wainrot’s Carmina Burana and Toer Van Shayk’s 7th Seventh Symphony in Tel Aviv, Jerusalem and Haifa. Read more...

Did you know that in 2009 the Jewish Foundation of Manitoba purchased bedroom furniture for girls at Knowles Centre...provided 28 compound microscopes for Gray Academy and helped to record the world premiere of “I Believe”?
