They make us proud!

Did you know that in 2008, our Bar and Bat Mitzvah fund-holders distributed over $16,000 to 49 different charities? This money makes a huge difference to these organizations! Winnipeg Harvest, for example, took the $793 received from Bar/Bat Mitzvah fund-holders and turned it into $15,860 worth of food for Winnipeg’s hungry. Jewish Child and Family Service will use the $814 they received from Bar/Bat Mitzvah fund-holders to provide a camping experience or an extra-curricular activity for children in their care. These are just a couple of examples of how the funds administered by our young people have made a positive impact in our community.

If you know a young person who will be celebrating their Bar or Bat Mitzvah, consider the gift of an endowment fund at the Jewish Foundation of Manitoba. You will be helping them experience the joy of Tzedakah and setting them on a life-long habit of philanthropy!
