FC Running Club

Hi everyone. Salut tout le monde.

The Fall Classic Running Club (FCRC) is off and running!

We're running Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 9:15, starting at the VW bus loop. Friday's Latté Lap is a great success and terrific way to relax after the run! Come and join us.

All runners and walkers are welcome to join! Questions? Call 489-6296 or email fallclassic@mts.net .

Linden Woods Fall Classic

The Fall Classic team is busy getting sponsorship funds for the event. It takes a lot of work to get enough sponsors to fund our projects; it takes a lot of commitment and generosity on the part of our sponsors to support our community-building projects.

Our next major project is to add the Spacenet Climber (pictured above) on to the fabulous EVOS play structure that we now have. Other park enhancements that will compliment the play structure, such as tetherball units, shade trees and seating areas, continue to be part of the development plan.

If you or your business would be interested in helping supporting the community, we would love to hear from you. Call us at 489-6296 or email us at fallclassic@mts.net

Take care and happy running!

Administration Message

Bon Voyage by frank-c

“This is my favorite musical – the theme of sharing and community always leaves everyone with a great feeling,” exclaims Mrs. Woods with a sparkle in her eye.  The excitement is growing for our Grade 4-6 students who are involved in our spring musical, Stone Soup.  The production hits the stage on Wednesday, May 13 at 7:00 at Van Walleghem Auditorium (the gym that is).

Ten, nine, eight… After 8 months of planning, preparation and fundraising, our Space Camp students are taking flight!  Bon Voyage to our Grade 8 Space Camp students!  We are confident that their time in Quebec will provide a lifetime of wonderful memories.

You will see that this month's calendar is full of various extra-curricular opportunities for all students. We would like to take this moment to thank the staff volunteers who make these activities possible.  Van Walleghem students will surely look back on their school days and remember their extra curricular activities with fondness.

It is with mixed feelings that we announce that Mrs. Daphne Woods will retire at the end of June this year.  Mrs. Woods will retire with 30 years of dedicated service to music education.  We wish her a healthy and happy retirement.

Plans for next school year are well underway in the admin office of Van Walleghem.  Please click here: ( http://vwenews.pbworks.com/2009-2010+Projected+Classes )  for our anticipated class structure for 2009-2010 and click here: ( http://vwhandbook.pbworks.com/Class-Placement#view=edit )  for details on the class placement process.

Your questions or comments are always welcome.
