I caught up with an extremely busy Coralee Dolyniuk in the midst of preparing for an upcoming Rotary event. We had a great chat on the life’s lighter side. Enjoy.

ECOS Project 2011
Submitted by Doren Roberts, President
Our Chapter is participating in the “Events for Communities of Sustainability” or ECOS project, an initiative through MPI Canada. Ekos is an ancient Greek word that means “home” or “earth” and is used in today’s words, such as ecology and economy, evoking the triple bottom line of people, planet and profit. In an effort to create positive social change aligned with the principles of ECOS, we are supporting the efforts of a charitable organization, Osborne House, a shelter for women and children who have left abusive relationships.
We are collecting gently used and clean items for women and children, ranging from shampoo, soaps and towels to journals, kitchen items, books and toys. A complete list of the items needed is attached.
The Board of Directors for MPI Manitoba appreciates the efforts of our members in supporting Osborne House, a much needed organization.

Be sure to check out chapter happenings and the latest industry news on Facebook. Francine Fournier has graciously stepped forward to manage our Facebook page. As you might recall, Francine joined our chapter last year as a student member. Well, we are happy to report that Francine is working full time in the tourism industry. She started at the Fort Garry Hotel, Spa and Conference Centre last January and is now working there as a Sales Account Executive.
