Alumni Profile - Thomas Stuart2005 Red River College Culinary Arts Graduate
While in the Culinary Arts program, Thomas quickly learned a wide variety of cooking styles and techniques and began networking with his classmates. He was also impressed with how well known the RRC instructors were within the culinary industry, which helped students to make new connections. After graduating from Red River College, Thomas started at Fude in October 2006 and hasn’t looked back. As the Chef and Kitchen Leader at Fude, Thomas gets to work with local ingredients and has created many of the items found on the menu. Thomas really enjoys the atmosphere at the restaurant and says that all of the employees are like a close-knit family. Recently, Fude won the Gold Plate award for best upscale dining in Canada. When Thomas isn’t busy at work, he enjoys photography, which allows him to express his creativity outside of the kitchen. He’s also a sports fan and plays in a local Ultimate Frisbee recreational league. Thomas says that the Culinary Arts program definitely helped launch his career and provided him with countless skills that he now uses on a daily basis.
