Editor's Note:
Last month I said we would have our booth set up in Lac du Bonnet  at a Small Business Week showcase; oops.  This year CF Winnipeg River had an evening banquet in Beausejour so that was my mistake - huh -Trick or Treat?!

This month we have 2 special treats to announce because 2 Pinawa residents have received awards; one from Canada's Prime Minister and the other resident received a surprise award from the Whiteshell Cross-country Ski Club.  Congratulations!

To receive something for nothing is a real treat so be sure to check out Community Futures Free Business Seminars. If you are an artisan and considering doing a business there's something there for you in next month's sessions.  Speaking of artisans, Pinawa's Artisans are holding an Open House, so check out the article for the date and locations.  Thanks to Linda Huisman for her various articles on nature and for including another recipe page.  More recipes and how to prepare foods can be read in Karen Munn's article on Herbs and for a treat the Quilter's Corner has more recipes and the answer to last month's Quizzle.  Be sure to check out the October Quizzle as well.  Linda's Knitten Mittens will be a holiday treat for some lucky recipients.

In this month's newsletter we have information that will make snow machine enthusiasts happy and also an article on the Pinawa Project which will make a whole lot of people happy in Pinawa if it comes to fruition.  Eastern Manitoba Concert Association has the latest concert information for November which will be the last one before Christmas.

If you missed out on the All Things Pinawa informational evening you'll find out what you missed in the first article of the newsletter You'll also find interesting facts in our regular contributors' submissions.  If you think that nature has passed us by take a look at Peter Taylor's column.  His photos are always inspirational!

For that touch of October and Hallowe'en check out Goose Gossip which will be the last column of the year for Morgan.  Nancy's Notes may give you the answer to why we haven't had the prettiest fall this year and don't forget to read the school news for the Hallowe'en parties.  The season is almost over for gardening so check out Nancy's Notes on how to put some plants to bed and what to do with geraniums.

Nancy's Notes on Work has a much more serious message, on Getting Lost!, so please read and feel free to pass along to other folks.

Remember to be safe on Saturday Night with all those Trick or Treaters out there.  Take care until next month ~Nancy

Manitobans are reminded that daylight saving time will end in the province early Sunday, November 1 when clocks will be set back one hour.  Under the Official Time Act, daylight saving time ends on the first Sunday in November and resumes the second Sunday in March. The official time change back to standard time will occur this year at 2 a.m., Sunday, November 1 at which time clocks should be set back to 1 a.m.
