Editor's Note:   As you can see we have another fantastic line-up of articles for you this month.  And can you believe it Pinawanians were the recipients of two more awards. But wait I am mistaken; kids from Pinawa have also recently received awards and you will find some great pictures of their activities In Frank Walton's article on the Kids of Mud.

Linda and I finish off the recipe pages of sourdough so if the kids are bored and you want to try out something interesting why not give making a starter a try. Linda has also provided us with a cute article called Bathtub Baby - I'm sure a lot of you pet owners can relate to this one.

We welcome Sloan Cathcart who is now taking over the Goose Gossip for the summer and they have been well under way in their programing in the Whiteshell.  Welcome back also to the Manitoba Science Academy who are expecting students from far away places such as New York and California.  Welcome to Pinawa!  Age Friendly Pinawa has a report on what they have accomplished so far and what our community can expect starting in September.

You'll also note that I have broken up the Nancy's Notes.  If you are interested just gardening you'll find that information in Nancy's Notes On Gardening.  You will find information on what is happening in town and what the Pinawa CDC is up to in the Pinawa Preamble.  The Pinawa Preamble is the name of our annual newsletter that arrives shortly before our AGM in local mailboxes so this was a logical name for the column. The Birthday Celebrations are included in this month's Preamble and a separate article can be found in the Pinawa Life Newsletter on the Parks Canada Special presentation on Sunday July 18th.

The Quilters' will now be taking a summer hiatus so you can check back in September for the answers to some of the fun parts in Linda's June article.  There are still Rec opportunities in the Rec Rap and are you up to another challenge besides the Pinawa Amazing Race?  One of our avid local fishermen has a challenge for you - so check out Will You Take A Challenge?  I  am sure some of you can relate to this one and we'd love to hear about your experiences either on the Forum or on Facebook.  If you are looking to upgrade your skills or are a beginner there is a computer course available in the summer at the Winnipeg Learning Centre. You'll find the details in the last article of this newsletter.  Don't forget to check out the photo page as we have a varied assortment of photos for this month. Speaking of which Peter has a very interesting photo in his collection as well. Karen in her kitchen has more information on fresh herbs, Patty has some sound advise on what buyers expect when purchasing a home, and want to laze around visit the Library for the latest in books.

Because it is now summer I'm giving everyone a break from their creativeness and we will be featuring a combined newsletter for July and August.  So until you hear from us again we hope you are having a great summer and don't forget to drop into Pinawa to experience our birthday bash, art in the gardens, or relax on our beach.

Remember play safe in the great outdoors....
