The Taylor Is Home. Is It The House For You?

Pinawa CDC's House Is Home For The Holidays...

by Nancy Bremner Community Development Officer

Wow... the house has arrived, 12:25 December 10th!  As I grab my camera and tear off through the bush on the "people path" to take pictures I think "well somebody is going to get a very nice Christmas present."  In October's Pinawa Life Newsletter an article  about The Taylor was written and that it was for sale.  The house has created quite a lot of interest from interested buyers and it will soon be listed now that it has arrived.

Below you will find a photographic journey of how a house gets placed on it's foundations.  Never having witnessed this before I can tell you these guys are professionals! Next after the house is on the foundation the basement will be heated to be dried out and then the floor will be poured.  When that is set the drywall will be installed.

The Taylor has arrived at 12:25 December 10 which barely warrants any interest from the deer in the neighbour's yard across the street.

Moving the cross beams out so that only 2 beams remain.

Photo 1 jacks are set in place.

The house receives three hydralic jack supports, then the beam is moved by the truck and tilted up carefully so the the jacks can then be set to take the weight of the house.  The process is repeated on the east side then the beams are removed and the house settled on it's foundations.
