Job Quest

Résumés

They're not that scary if you have your very own ?Résumé-buster? to call on for help!

Does writing your résumé set you shaking and shivering with fright?like meeting that ghost or goblin out haunting on a dark and stormy Halloween night? Whoooooooo!

Job Quest's Résumé Writing workshop is here to get you focussed on the wealth of skills and knowledge you have to offer any potential employer. By the end of the second workshop day, you will have a completed résumé that is:

  • Word-processed and professional-looking
  • No more than 2 pages in length
  • Written using your words to describe past tasks performed
  • Targeted to your chosen job or career objective
  • Summarized to highlight your qualifications that best match those required by the targeted position or field

Job Quest's Résumé Writing workshop will not only provide you with a résumé that fits you, but also:

  • Help you identify the key qualifications to present in your cover letter
  • Prepare you much better for the interview to follow
  • Set you thinking about other job or career possibilities, as you rediscover the hidden treasures of your workplace relevant skills and abilities

Job Quest? Career Services limits the number of participants in its 2-day workshop to ensure we can help you one-on-one as needed within this small group setting. Job Quest's experienced and highly qualified ?Résumé-Busters? will blast away your fears and concerns, and help you write a concise advertisement that really catches employers' attention and makes them want to meet you . So . . .

Who're you gonna call? Job Quest at 482-2100 . Register for one of our regularly scheduled Résumé Writing workshops today.

InkBank

Recycle your empty printer cartridges to help us earn money!

The Selkirk & District Community Learning Centre has enrolled in a wonderful new fundraising program called InkBank Cartridge Recycling.  This program offers us an almost effortless way to raise money to support our projects - and to protect our planet.  We earn money simply by recycling used printer, fax and copier cartridges that were destined for the trash.

Here's How You Can Help:

  • Save your eligible cartridges you use at home, workplace or business.
  • Ask friends, family, employers to help support our fundraising efforts.
  • Collect only eligible cartridges (All Epson cartridges are not eligible).
  • Drop off the empty cartridges to the Selkirk Learning Centre or call to arrange for pick up (204) 482-2111.
  • NOTE:  Previously recycled or remanufactured cartridges cannot be accepted.

To get a list of all eligible ink cartridges click here.  For more information on InkBank, please contact the Selkirk & District Community Learning Centre:
